CASE ANNOUNCES TIER 3 ENGINE UPGRADES TO CX130B EXCAVATOR

RACINE, Wis. (Jan. 22, 2008) At the 2008 World Of Concrete show in Las Vegas, Case Construction Equipment announced that the Case CX130B excavator has been upgraded to Tier 3 certification. This upgrade delivers better fuel economy, better productivity and better sound levels for the best bottom line.

Greater fuel efficiency

Featuring a clean-burning, electronically-controlled common rail Tier 3-certified Isuzu engine that delivers 95 net hp (71 kW), the CX130B is mighty, maneuverable and fuel efficient. The common rail fuel injection system and redesigned hydraulic system deliver 15 percent better fuel efficiency to significantly reduce operating costs.

The excavator™s size is ideal for working in residential construction, but powerful enough for commercial construction. With an operating weight of 27,800 pounds (12,610 kg), this workhorse stands its ground in heavy digging and lifting applications and allows for easy transportation between jobs for maximum versatility.

Faster cycle times

An increase in hydraulic horsepower on this machine translates into faster cycle times. The Case CX130B excavator uses regenerative hydraulics on the boom, arm and bucket curl, which speeds the cycle time required to fill the bucket.

Hydraulic oil that would normally flow directly to the tank is combined with pump flow, reducing overall cycle time. As a result, the CX130B penetrates piles faster and handles the most demanding jobs.

Increased operator comfort

The cab on the CX130B is among the quietest in the industry, even at full throttle. The ultra low noise level inside the cab 68.5 dBa makes for a more comfortable, more productive operator. The cab also features reinforced tubular structures that are less subject to vibration.

Improved productivity

When it comes to moving material, the higher torque swing on the CX130B drives to the spoil pile and back to the dig position faster. Higher capacity drive motors enhance tractive effort for easy positioning of the excavator on a job site or re-positioning during a trenching application.

The excavator offers a boom length of 15 feet 2 inches (4.63 m) with either an 8 feet 2 inch (2.5 m) or 9 feet 11 inch (3.01 m) arm with a maximum dig depth of 19 feet 10 inches (6.05 m) a maximum bucket digging force of 21,357 pounds (95.0 kN).

Ease of maintenance for maximum uptime

Like all models in the Case CX B Series, the CX130B excavator leads the industry with a 25 percent improvement in maintainability and serviceability, as measured by the SAE specification for maintenance and serviceability. The machine features improvements that simplify maintenance, extend equipment life, increase machine utilization, and maximize profitability.

Service innovations like the green plug an oil pan plug with a built-in check valve that allows the used engine oil to run through a tube and be easily reclaimed by the service technician provide an easier, cleaner, and environmentally friendly engine oil change. Flip-open service panels provide easy, ground line access to all key components.

Vertically mounted fuel and engine oil filters located in the pump house allow for easy changes without going underneath the machine. Primary and secondary fuel filters remove contamination and can easily be replaced at ground level. The CX130B also includes a cab recirculation filter that is easily checked from behind the cab.

Continuous flow filtration

The hydraulic oil filter on this machine provides 100 percent continuous flow filtration of all hydraulic oil on the return line, extending component life and oil change intervals to 5,000 hours, while reducing owning and operating costs.

Case offers a full range of compact, mid-sized and standard excavators up to 80 metric tons.
