USPraxis will start shipping production models of the new Praxis Wood Chipper aptly named The Wood Chipper on June 1st 2008. James Cornelius, President of USPraxis, showcased the new product adding “The goal was to build a wood chipper that was small enough to fit through a standard sized 36″ gate with a large enough chipping capacity to take on large 6″ tree limbs, and we”ve definitely hit the mark with the Wood Chipper.” Made proudly in their manufacturing facility in Sycamore, Illinois the Praxis Wood Chipper is based on the engineering expertise developed over the past decade of manufacturing their successful line of portable stump grinders and log splitters. Featuring heavy duty commercial grade components this machine was designed specifically with the rental, arborist, and professional landscaper market in mind. It has all the functionality of the larger more expensive 6″ chippers but at $5,995 USD is half the price.
The Wood Chipper is painted with a high quality powder coating for long lasting exterior durability, the exit shoot rotates 180 degree away from the operator, and the flywheel will not engage unless the top cover is closed. Additional features include the easy maintenance of a gravity feeder with a 24hp Honda V-Twin engine, an integrated 6 gallon steel gas tank, 24″ flywheel with 2 double-edged 8″ blades, a heavy-duty commercial centrifugal clutch, and a unique patent pending cutter block and chopper (mulching-detangler) system that WILL NOT jamb. Another unique feature that was introduced on our Log Machine was carried over onto the Wood Chipper is the front set of wheels that allows easy mobility, adjusts to level the chipper on most terrain then tucks away for transport.
