Cleveland Lincoln Electric was recently asked to help make a difference in people™s lives as the exclusive welding partner of ABC™s hit show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Lincoln, along with the Harris Products Group, was proud to donate equipment, welding wire and training to the hit Sunday night show.
In order to pull off the remarkable, seven-day builds that are the show™s trademark, the program utilizes two production crews, complete with workshops, equipment and staff. While one show is in preproduction, the second unit will frequently be on the other side of the country, tearing down and building a new house for a deserving family. This level of complexity requires expert coordination and attention to detail.
Recently, one production unit needed welding equipment for a designer™s special project. The request eventually led to Lincoln Electric™s Cleveland headquarters, and soon after, both units were outfitted with equipment donated by the company.
The show will now utilize the following Lincoln Electric equipment:

- Pro-Cut 55 Plasma Cutting System
- Power MIG 180 Combination Wire Feeder/MIG Welder

- Harris Torch Kits
Additionally, several of Lincoln™s technical sales representatives donated their time to train the show™s crew.
Lincoln was great to work with, said Jim Bollinger, design team fabricator with the show. We had everything delivered in three days, and the guys are having fun putting the equipment to work. From now on, whenever you see welding on the show, its Lincoln equipment we™re using.
