KOMATSU™S RELEASES THE NEW WA100M-5 COMPACT WHEEL LOADER

  • Excellent bucket capacity and class-leading payload

  • Enhanced safety and comfort

  • Easy access maintenance and service points

VERNON HILLS, Ill., FOR FIELD DAYS 2006 The Utility Marketing Division of Komatsu America Corp. (KAC) introduces another new member to its Dash-5 line of compact wheel loaders, the WA100M-5 designed for superior versatility. An attachment quick coupler, high tipping loads and a class-leading payload capacity make the WA100M-5 powerful and productive in a variety of applications including: light construction, supply yards, confined jobsites, landscaping, and utility work.

The WA100M-5 is an extremely versatile machine capable of handling a variety of job requirements with its power, controllability and enhanced visibility, says David Caldwell, Product Specialist, Compact Wheel Loaders, Komatsu America Corp. Komatsu also has engineered numerous safety and comfort features into the WA100M-5 to make it an extremely solid machine.

The 82 HP WA100M-5 is packed with enhancements including automatic bucket leveling and an outstanding dump height and reach. It offers a high payload capacity when using pallet forks and makes changing attachments easy with a hydraulic front attachment quick coupler. The WA100M-5 comes standard With limited slip differential, and is also available with 100 percent differential lock.

For increased productivity, the 15,123-lb. WA100M-5 comes with a bucket designed for superior penetration into the pile and easy loading. Furthermore, it is rated for high tipping loads and lift capacities. Its bucket capacity is a healthy 1.8 yd3, and it has a class-leading payload of 5,247 lb. The WA100M-5 comes with rear axle-oscillation, which allows for excellent digging and generally provides the best stability.

An optional feature on the WA100M-5 is the manual speed selection (creeper gear). This allows the separation of engine speed (RPM) from travel speed and provides for maximum hydraulic flow to a front mounted hydraulic attachment without operating the machine at a high travel speed.

Keeping Operators Comfortable and Safe

The WA100M-5 offers operators all-around excellent visibility with a delta boom design, sloped engine hood, a narrow tail and increased cab glass. Komatsu has added low entry steps and a wide-opening door to improve safety, especially in construction and utility work where it is commonplace to enter and exit the loader multiple times a day, adds Caldwell.

Maximizing operator comfort is a spacious operator environment with either a cab or a ROPS canopy. Adding to that is the WA100M-5™s ergonomic design with multiple storage areas and a large wheelbase for improved ride quality. Additional optional features include an air conditioner and an Electronically Controlled Suspension System (Load Stabilization / Ride Control).

Easier Service and Maintenance

Daily inspections and routine maintenance on the WA100M-5 are performed easily due to the wide opening engine hood and easy-access, freestanding radiator, which allows both sides of the radiator to be cleaned with less effort. In addition all fill points, filters, and sight gauges are easy to see and reach.  Servicing the WA100M-5 is made easier with a tilt forward operator™s compartment and a longitudinally installed engine that provides access to all sides of the engine block.
