Liebherr has developed a specialized crawler loader specifically designed and built for slag handling applications. The Steel Mill Loaders incorporate numerous safety and operating features for the efficient handling and loading of hot slag in extreme temperatures.
The LR 624 STM Litronic and LR 634 STM Litronic have an operating weight of around 41888/50706 lb, with a tipping load in the region of 26455/30865 lb. The engine is a Liebherr made D934 (emission regulations according to 97/68/EC, 2004/26/EC, Stage IIIA and EPA/CARB Tier 3), which develops 105/135kW at 1800 rpm. The specialized, heat resistant 1,96/2,62 yd3 bucket is constructed from Hardox 400 for optimum wear resistance.
The machine is designed to withstand the extreme application with highly specialized features – not only to withstand the high radiant temperatures, but also the direct heat transfer from contact with hot slag through the bucket and undercarriage. Safety and comfort of the operator is also a priority, the Liebherr Steel Mill Loader includes a complete package for heat and abrasive dust protection.
