CASE INTRODUCES THREE NEW TELESCOPIC HANDLERS

Three Models Lift, Load and Stack with Total Precision

RACINE, Wis. (Jan. 22, 2008) At the 2008 World Of Concrete show in Las Vegas, Case Construction Equipment introduced three telescopic handlers to its full line of equipment. The TX742, TX842 and TX945 feature outstanding visibility, superior operator comfort, great machine balance and ease of maintenance and serviceability. The three models are engineered to work productively and cost effectively in a variety of load-and-carry and material-handling jobs such as commercial and residential construction, specialty trades and landscaping applications requiring precise maneuverability, superior traction and lift capacity in the toughest terrain.

From the comfortable, roomy cab with its single joystick control for maximum operator efficiency, to the low-boom design for enhanced stability and visibility, to the powershift transmission with four forward and three reverse gears for smoother operation, the Case TX Series telescopic handlers were built to deliver maximum performance, reliability and productivity on the job site, said Jim Hughes, brand marketing manager, Case Construction Equipment.

Superior power

Equipped with a high performance Case Family IV 4.5 liter turbocharged engine, the TX742 is rated at 95 net horsepower (70 Kw), while the TX842 and TX945 are both rated at 108 net horsepower (81 Kw). The full powershift transmission on the units features four forward and three reverse gears, providing smooth, on-the-go forward-reverse shifting at any engine speed for more productive operation. “All three machines can reach a top speed of 22 mph (35km/hr) in forward and 14 mph (22.5 km/hr) in reverse for quick maneuvering across the job site,” Hughes said.

Low-boom enhances operator visibility

The low-boom design on the Case TX Series models enhances both stability and visibility. The high-mounted cab offers excellent all-around visibility forward to the forks for quicker, more precise placement of loads and to the rear of the machine for a safer worksite environment. The 153-inch (3.8 m) turning radius provides maneuverability in the most confined spaces. For added productivity, front and rear work lights and mirrors are standard.

With one of the most spacious operating platforms in the industry, the Case TX Series cab is designed with comfort and safety in mind, Hughes said. The telescopic handler cab maximizes productivity and reduces operator fatigue by matching the machine environment to the operator. The sizeable cab, easy-to-read instrument panel and conveniently placed controls create an environment that puts any operator at ease. The standard seat adjusts to suit each operator and an optional mechanical suspension seat is available for greater comfort.

The convenient single joystick provides complete, one-hand control of both the boom and attachment for fast and precise positioning. Moving the lever fore and aft raises and lowers the boom. Moving the joystick left and right extends or retracts the boom. Toggling the thumb-operated switch rolls the front attachment forward or back. Two buttons control the auxiliary hydraulic functions.

Multiple steering modes

Three available steering modes add to the overall versatility and productivity of these machines, making the TX Series adaptable to a variety of applications and  jobsite conditions, Hughes said. Front-wheel steer provides maximum control at high transport speeds; four-wheel steer provides maximum maneuverability and a tight turning radius; and crab steer provides maneuverability when stacking pallets or working beside a structure.

Smooth, safe and stable operation

The advanced open-center hydraulic system on the Case TX Series telescopic handlers provides smooth operation in all ground conditions. Case telescopic handlers also feature frame-leveling control to level the machine +/-8 degrees on uneven ground. Frame level can be monitored with an easy-to-read gauge on the ROPS canopy. For added stability, the rear axle oscillation lock automatically activates when the boom angle exceeds 30 degrees, disabling further actuation of frame leveling and stabilizers.

Easy maintenance saves time and money

The easier it is to perform maintenance on equipment, the more likely it will get done, Hughes said. The side-mounted engine on Case telescopic handlers provides ground-level access to major service points for routine maintenance so daily service and maintenance can be completed quickly and easily.

Attachments add versatility on the job

A universal quick coupler design and a wide variety of attachments give Case TX Series telescopic handlers the added versatility to accomplish many challenging tasks from carrying, lifting and stacking, to grading and pushing. Attachments include a variety of carriages, forks, augers, buckets and brooms, as well as a truss boom, crane hook and more.

The TX742 has an operating weight of 22,700 pounds (10,297 kg), a maximum lift height of 42 feet (12.8 m) and a maximum lift capacity of 6,600 pounds (2,994 kg). The TX842 has an operating weight of 24,930 pounds (11,308 kg), a maximum lift height of 42 feet (12.8 m) and a maximum lift capacity of 8,000 pounds (3,628 kg). The TX945 has an operating weight of 27,778 pounds (12,600 kg), a maximum lift height of 45 feet (13.7 m) and a maximum lift capacity of 9,000 pounds (4,082 kg). The TX742 and TX842 have a forward reach of 29 feet (8.8 m) and the TX945 has a forward reach of 31 feet (9.4 m).
