CASE ADDS HIGH PERFORMANCE 650L TO CRAWLER DOZER LINE

RACINE, Wis. (Oct. 8, 2009) – Case Construction Equipmenttoday announced the addition of the 650Lto its crawler dozer line. The new Case 650L crawler dozer delivers more performance, a lower overall operating height and weight, and superior maintenance features that boost productivity. The machine is ideal for residential job sites and confined commercial work areas.

The 650L retains the superior features of the Case crawler dozer line, such as hydrostatic drive, a comfortable operator compartment, two undercarriage options and superior maintainability.

The 650L delivers 74 net horsepower (55 kW) through a Tier 3-certified, four-cylinder, 4.5-liter turbocharged Case Family IV engine with electronic fuel injection for maximum fuel efficiency and easier starts in cold weather. A high-pressure common-rail injection system delivers excellent combustion. A charge air cooler reduces emissions and provides a cleaner and more efficient fuel burn.

Sized to fit the application

The lower operating height allows the 650L to work around low overhangs, while its lighter weight is ideal for work in soft soil conditions. The shorter track means easier turning, making the machine extremely maneuverable on the job site. The compact size also makes the crawler dozer easy to transport from job to job.

Case also offers a 90-inch blade for more precise work in confined job conditions, said Ion Warner, senior director of marketing. This allows for operation between buildings with narrow lot lines.

Hydrostatic drive delivers maximum control
The isolation-mounted dual path hydrostatic drive components on the 650L deliver precise variable power turning and counter rotation for superior maneuverability and performance. The adjustable operator settings allow the customer to set the steering, shuttle and maximum speed based on personal preference or application.

The Case system has dual hydrostatic pumps that deliver power to each track through large drive components, Warner said. This allows operators to push more material through the turn, reducing the number of passes required to move material.

Easy service access and increased comfort

The seat on the 650L tilts easily for access to the hydrostatic system. The new design reduces the machine™s operating height by five inches. Optional hydraulic test ports are now available on the 650L for fast diagnosis and easy troubleshooting.

The optional cab on the crawler dozer is isolation mounted from the main frame to cushion against noise and vibration, increasing comfort and productivity. The mechanical suspension seat is standard, with an optional air suspension seat. A high-capacity air conditioning system is standard with cab units. The narrow dash and tapered hood allow exceptional visibility to the blade, making it easy to gauge material flow under the blade.

The low-effort, single-lever PAT blade control increases productivity with simultaneous, multifunction control. The operator can pitch the blade to match the material being worked.

Undercarriage delivers precise, easy grading

The undercarriage features a double-reduction with planetary final drive for high tractive effort and long life. There are two track options available for the 650L crawler dozer. The Case Lubricated Track (CLT) is sealed and lubricated, with an oil reservoir in each pin. The Case Extended Life Track (CELT) uses a large diameter hardened bushing, which provides outstanding durability and undercarriage life in abrasive soil conditions.

The rigid undercarriage allows for precise track alignment and easy grading. The 650L is available in Long Track (LT), Wide Track (WT), and Low Ground Pressure (LGP) configurations to match operating condition. A 49-degree sloping track frame cover, along with ample space between the track and the machine, helps shed material and makes undercarriage cleaning easy.

Leadership in maintainability
Fast and easy daily maintenance is just one of the features that makes Case a leader in maintainability. Swing-out access doors and sight gauges for ground line maintenance and fluid level checks mean the operator will be spending less time servicing the machine and more time getting the job done. The front grill also swings out, along with an access door to the engine for easy servicing. Swing-up access doors reduce the time it takes to change the hydraulics and hydrostatic transmission filters.

Operating weights on the 650L are 16,250 lb (7370 kg) on the LT, 16,800 lb (7619 kg) on the WT and 17,550 lb (7959 kg) on the LGP.

Case offers a complete line of crawler dozers and attachments
In addition to the 650L crawler dozer, Case offers two crawler dozers under 100 horsepower. These include the 84 net horsepower (62.6 kW) 750Land 96 net horsepower (72 kW) 850L. Case also offers three crawler dozers above 100 horsepower.

A variety of attachments, such as winches, forestry guarding, laser blade control and rippers, is available for the Case crawler dozer line.
