West Salem, Ohio – American Augers continues to stretch its lead as an industry leader in auger boring manufacturing with the introduction of the 84/96-1800 NG, which is the biggest and most powerful auger boring machine available on the market today.
The standard model is designed with a 300 HP (223 kW) Caterpillar C-7 Tier III diesel engine, and a 10 speed transmission. The machine will excel with 1,800,000 lbs. (816 Tonnes) of thrust, and 272,236 ft-lbs. (369,103 Nm) of maximum torque. The 84/96-1800 is equipped with a 6 in. (152.4 mm) hex, and has a working range of 24 – 84 inches (610 – 2,134 mm). Contractors can select to modify the machine with an optional 96 inch (2,438 mm) master pusher.
The next generation design benefit includes the Quik Tran™ fast return system that provides up to 20,000 lbs. (9,072 kg) of push/pull at high speed, and a Quik Split™ frame design that allows the machine to be separated into sections for faster and easier lifts into and out of the working pit.
84/96-1800 NG allows for an increased ability to pull auger, steering rods, and push product, improves the visibility to the master pusher, has a low centerline and wide stance for machine stability, hydraulically assisted clutch with a power assisted actuator that is easier and more comfortable to operate, ergonomically designed operating controls that allows for feathering of the rotation and slow turn of the shaft for easy auger installation, updated gauge system that includes engine tachometer, engine warning light, & hydraulic thrust pressure reading.
