SNAPPER ADDS TO INNOVATIVE NXT LAWN TRACTOR & WALK-BEHIND MOWER LINEUPS

Milwaukee, Wis., (October 27, 2010)—When they were introduced in Spring 2010, the new Snapper NXT mowers transformed the mowing experience with their aggressive styling, push button start and dozens of other pioneering innovations.  Now, for the 2011 model year, Snapper is adding a third NXT lawn tractor and another NXT walk-behind model to the Snapper NXT lineup.

Snapper is adding a single-cylinder 19.5-gross horsepower* lawn tractor featuring a Briggs & Stratton Professional Series™ engine and 42” mowing deck to the Snapper NXT rider lineup.  Like the 23-gross horsepower unit with 46” deck and the 27-gross horsepower tractor with 53” deck, the new model features push button start, a revolutionary cutting system, an ergonomic, breathable mesh suspension seat and electric height of cut.

Both the 23- and 27-gross horsepower units feature Professional Series V-twin engines and an electronic dashboard like one would find in a new car.  With just a glance, the operator can check fuel level, battery voltage, height of cut, hours of use and time of day.  An additional maintenance reminder alerts the operator when it’s time to service the oil system, filters or blade. Typical retail prices for the Snapper NXT lawn tractors are $2,299, $2,599 and $2,999 (19.5-, 23- and 27-gross hp units respectively).  Prices may vary by dealer.

Both Snapper NXT walk-behind mowers boast their own exclusive features, including a patent pending variable speed REACT™ Drive Control System, which automatically adjusts the mower’s speed to the walking speed of the operator.  Mow fast or slow, the mower intuitively matches the operator’s pace.  Another first is the mower’s electronic maintenance reminder, conveniently located between the hand more controls.  New for 2011 is a model featuring an electric height-of-cut feature that raises the mowing deck automatically using a toggle switch.

Both walk-behind models are 22” rear wheel drive units and feature a Briggs & Stratton 875 Professional Series engine.  The standard model retails for $449; the model with electric height of cut retails for $499.
