ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Pro-Tech offers a complete line of steel trip edge Sno Pushers for clearing icy snow and hard pack. These containment plows feature Pro-Tech’s patented IST technology, which provides a low-maintenance, yet high-performance solution for floating over obstacles.
Developed specifically for containment plows, the IST system uses a steel edge mounted on a specially blended memory urethane. When an obstruction is hit, the edge flexes and snaps back to its original angle in a smooth, non-shocking trip action. Compared with traditional trip edge systems that use springs or hinges, IST reduces maintenance concerns as well as the risk of breaking because of its simple design and no moving parts.
Furthermore, Pro-Tech’s steel trip edge Sno Pushers contain unique, self-leveling wear shoes to ensure a level push for excellent scraping performance. The shoes are narrow in the front for cutting into hard pack and eliminating snow trails, while the rear is wide for extra stability.
A total of 12 steel trip edge models are available with options for attaching to any make of loader, backhoe and skid steer. The 10- to 18-foot loader models are capable of pushing 13 to 24 cubic yards of snow in one pass, respectively. The 10- to 14-foot backhoe models can push 10 to 14 yards, and the 6- to 12-foot skid steer models can push 6 to 12 cubic yards.
For maximum strength the Sno Pushers are fully welded, and they use horizontal and vertical channeling made of thick steel. Additionally, triangular gussets provide optimal support between the moldboard and side plates.
An optional level gauge is available for all models. Binder kits are offered for backhoe and loader models, and skid steer products can be equipped with a quick-attach mounting system. Like all other Pro-Tech Sno Pushers, the steel trip edge models come with a 10-year limited warranty, a competitive price and an industry-leading free freight program.
