SIMA introduces changes to 12th annual Snow & Ice Symposium

The Snow & Ice Management Association’s 12th annual Snow & Ice Symposium will be June 24-27 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville for four days of presentations, speakers, demonstrations, networking opportunities and a trade show.

Jeff Hargett will address the crowd with “Legendary Service at the Ritz Carlton” and Mikhail Baranov with Agrimex in Moscow presents “Snow Removal in Russia – Learn from Your Counterparts Overseas.”

This year’s slate of events runs long and includes: “Snack & Chat” networking roundtable discussions, more than 20 educational sessions and presentations on all aspects of the business, a two-day trade show from more than 80 exhibitors, a Certified Snow Professional exam, and an awards ceremony.

Educational session attendees will find past tracks on sales and marketing, administration, and others but are encouraged to hear a new track on anti-icing and deicing detailing liquids, bulk salt supply management and more.

Last year’s record number of attendees spurred programmers to introduce new facets to the event as well. This year SIMA introduces a half-day equipment demonstration on opening day so snow and ice industry professionals can gain hands-on experience before buying. Groups can tour 11 different equipment tents and receive tutorials while trying units such as snowplows, anti-icing rigs and box plows.
