VAST Enterprises announces its composite pavers meet the standard for the EPA’s Comprehensive Procurement Guideline program. For patio blocks, 90 percent to 100 percent of the material must be recovered content. VAST’s composite material consists of up to 95-percent recycled automobile tires and plastic containers.
Andy Vander Woude, president of VAST Enterprises, said his company not only manufactures green products, the production process in general is eco-friendly as it is low in greenhouse gas emissions, doesn’t generate volatile organic compounds and leaves no scraps to dispose of at the end of the process. Vander Woude also said the composite pavers can be recycled.
According to the company, at present VAST composite pavers have used more than 2.5 million pounds of tires and plastics once destined for landfills.
