Nikko Tanaka Engineering USA to be absorbed into Hitachi Koki USA

Effective January 1, the business functions of Nikko Tanaka Engineering USA will be absorbed into Hitachi Koki USA. Nikko Tanaka is the sales and support company for Tanaka outdoor power equipment, and Hitachi Koki is the manufacturer of Hitachi power tools and accessories. The integration will improve business efficiencies and allow product lines to collaborate as well as share in future research and development efforts.

Since May 2007 when Nikko Tanaka became a subsidiary of Hitachi Koki, both companies have been operating independently. Beginning January 1, Tanaka’s customer service, technical service, order placement and processing and accounting functions will move from the current Auburn, Washington, headquarters to Hitachi Koki’s headquarters outside Atlanta, Georgia. All Tanaka sales and marketing staff will remain in place.

All product, parts and accessories will continue to ship from Auburn, and Tanaka brand products will still be sold through the independent dealer network. Technical service support will continue at the Auburn location, but all initial calls will be processed through Hitachi Koki.

From now until January 1, Tanaka customers may still use existing Nikko Tanaka phone and fax numbers and email addresses to place orders. Customers will be notified with more information in the coming weeks.
