Project Evergreen’s Buck It Up program underway

Project Evergreen’s Buck It Up For Our Military Families national program began in March and will end on May 16, Armed Forces Day. The program is an extension of the GreenCare for Troops program, which provides free lawn and landscape services for military families where the major financial contributor is serving overseas.

The Buck It Up program asks consumers to donate $1, $5 or $10 to the GreenCare for Troops Program. At least 60 percent of the proceeds will go toward creating a scholarship program for military family members seeking a career in the horticultural industry. The rest of the donations will help increase Project Evergreen’s infrastructure to better handle the 7,500 military families and 2,100 volunteers helping with the program.

Getting involved is easy. Companies and organizations can place a bucket in their offices to collect donations. You provide the bucket, Project Evergreen has a PDF to attach to the bucket. At the end of the program, collect the money and write a check payable to Project Evergreen Buck It Up. Mail the check to Project Evergreen, 120 Main St. W., P.O. Box 156, New Prague, MN, 56071.
