ARA team advances in Construction Challenge

The Construction Challenge is an event developed by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and Destination ImagiNation to attract teens to the construction industry. Middle school and high school teams of five to seven participants compete in several events at regional rallies, held in 16 cities in the United States and Canada. Winning teams advance to the championship finals, which will be in Knoxville, Tennessee, May 19-23.

Fifty-four teams will compete at the championship, and the American Rental Association’s team is one of them. Team ARA consists of seven middle school students from St. Therese School in Kansas City, Missouri: John Perlik, Adam Phillips, Mariah Ramirez, Jill Kallenberger, Mitchell McDonald, Alex Carlisle and Maggie Lanham. The team is led by Sara McDonald.

Team ARA finished first overall at the regional rally held in Kansas City, Missouri. They will compete at finals to win prizes ranging from scholarships and computers to iPods and gift certificates.
