The Ball Horticultural Company acquired Kieft Pro Seeds’ majority share of stocks, giving it control of the Venhuizen, The Netherlands-based company. Ball, a wholesale ornamental plants distributor, believes Kieft, a seed breeder and producer, will harmonize with their own PanAmerican Seed product brand and strengthen the line. They plan to use Kieft as a partner in product development and support.
Kieft will continue to manufacture its own brand from the Venhuizen plant and distribute its products as it has in the past. Former Kieft majority stockholder, Cees van Diepen, will remain onboard to manage Venhuizen operations.
