Agrium sponsors PLANET Day of Service Projects

Agrium Advanced Technologies donated its environmentally friendly fertilizers toward Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) projects to assist veterans, their families and participating schools in honor of Earth Day, celebrated on April 22.

“PLANET Day of Service gives AAT and other PLANET members the chance to give something back to the veterans and troops who selflessly serve our country,” says Andrew Mittag, president of AAT.

AAT donated two fertilizers from its earth-friendly line, POLYON and DURATION CR, to landscape companies participating in the PLANET Day of Service at veterans’ memorials, military families’ homes and schools. The day allows lawn care professionals to develop projects for those who are unable to do it themselves.

Four states saw first-hand what environmentally minded service looks like. RS Unlimited Landscaping in Cleveland, Missouri, spruced up the National World War I Museum in Kansas City. Farmside Landscape & Design in Wantage, New Jersey, delivered fertilizer to a veterans’ memorial. Turf Appeal in Oklahoma City revamped two military families’ yards. AAT itself aided Grandville Village School in Grandville, Massachusetts, in its makeover of the school grounds and athletic fields.
