Ball Horticultural Company and Van de Wetering Greenhouses co-sponsored a grower event on June 16 in Long Island, New York, to preview Ball’s FloraPlant and PanAmerican Seed 2010 varieties.
About 170 varieties were on hand to give growers an up-close inspection of what would suit their customers’ needs and improve sales. Hundreds of growers attended, reporting a 91-percent satisfaction rating for event usefulness. Of the varieties featured, the most popular crowd pleasers reported were Volatge Yellow Osteopernum, Versa Coleus and Breathless Blush Euphobia.
Additionally, the event introduced attendees to Van de Weterings’ Plug & Ship program as well as Burpee Home Gardens and Simply Beautiful customer-catching programs.
