The Professional Landcare Network will hold the 34th annual Student Career Days April 8-11, 2010, at Chattahoochee Technical College, North Metro Campus in Atlanta, Georgia.
SCD is returning to Chattahoochee Technical College for the second year since the college first hosted it in 2008. That year’s SCD attracted nearly 1,000 students, the highest attendance in event history.
SCD draws students from two- and four-year horticulture programs to participate in three days of competitions. There are 28 team and individual categories, from plant identification to aboriculture to paver installation.
Participants are awarded scholarships from the PLANET Academic Excellence Foundation, which awarded more than $69,500 last year.
SCD also serves as a networking event between students and green industry companies. Last year’s Career Fair showcased more than 60 companies.
