Proven Winners won the Editor’s choice and the Industry’s Choice awards for its Snow Princess variety at the 2009 Medal of Excellence awards at the Ohio Short Course. This is the first time in the awards’ history a single variety has won both.
Winners were selected by members of the academy, which is made up of industry professionals.
The Snow Princess is a Lobularia variety with the unique feature of being sterile. Hence, it pours its energies in blossoming fully, producing a strong scent, growing faster and withstanding heat better from mid- to late spring, rather than reproducing.
The Snow Princess variety will be available in garden centers in spring 2010.
