Reinders sponsors hands-on harvesting event

Reinders will hold a Rainwater Harvesting Event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Boerner Botanical Gardens August 12-21.

The purpose of the week-long, hands-on training seminar is to educate professionals on the newest practices used to harvest rainwater and stormwater. Participants will have the chance to install a 25,000-gallon rainwater harvesting system for the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.

The harvesting system was developed by Reinders and Aquascape as a project to develop alternative water management methods. The project received a 2009 Best Management Practice award.

Professionals will receive overviews of each day’s construction tasks and may choose which days to attend based on their interests. The harvesting system’s installations will include an Aquascape RainXchange System, Unilock’s Permeable Paver System, wetland filtration, rain gardens and waterfall and stream construction.
