The Cornerstone Building Foundation selected The Groundskeeper for the 2009 Subcontractor of the Year award. Southwest Gas sponsors the awards program, which honors skill, responsibility and integrity in construction and design industries.
The Subcontractor of the Year award goes to a company displaying quality of craftsmanship, community contribution, consistent customer service, schedule and budget responsiveness, emphasis on teamwork and company longevity.
The Groundskeeper was formed in 1975 and is now located in seven Southwest markets with more than 700 employees. It has been an annual nominee since becoming a member of the Foundation and recognized as a finalist three times. As the 2009 winner, The Groundskeeper beat out 47 nominees.
The Cornerstone Building Foundation consists of the National Association of Women in Construction, Arizona Builders Alliance, The American Institute of Architects, American Consulting Engineers Association and the Construction Specification Institute.
