Doosan Infracore received the Best of the Best Award at the 2009 Reddot Design Award Show for its futuristic concept excavator. More than 2,733 designs from 61 countries entered the competition. From those entries, 206 were honored at the award show. Of those awarded, 15 were chosen to receive the Best of the Best Award.
Doosan Infracore’s design was chosen for its Eco-Transformer concept. The design reflects four benefits: ecology, safety, usability and efficiency. The excavator is designed to function at various working sites, to be environmentally friendly with energy efficiency and to exhibit high performance, even in severe conditions.
Development of the futuristic excavator is targeted for completion by 2018. One design from the 15 Best of the Best will be awarded with the honorary Luminary Award on Nov. 24 in Singapore.
