Mower broom helps with ‘spring cleaning’
The MCT broom attachment for outfront mowers helps prepare yards for spring by cleaning up grass and leaf debris. MB Companies’ broom attachment features a 30-degree hydraulic angle change, a 25-inch brush diameter and 4- or 5-foot broom widths. Attachments are recommended for outfront mowers with mechanically driven mower decks with less than 25 horsepower.
New walk-behind mower from Ferris
The Ferris HydroDrive walk-behind mower features a 16-horsepower Vanguard engine with 48-inch cutting width. The mower has a dual path hydrostatic transmission system, and each drive wheel is individually fan-cooled and filtered. The dual hydro fluid reservoirs protect each hydro-system from contamination. Operators can set speed with the cruise control bar, and cutting height is adjustable between 11⁄2 and 41⁄2 inches.
Straight blade plows for skid steers
Daniels Plows has three smaller-size straight blade plows compatible with skid steers. With one plow, operators can push and stack snow, eliminating a need for multiple pieces of equipment. Available in 10-, 12- and 14-inch widths, the plows are standard with a double-acting cylinder with maximum stroke at 35 degrees, cushioning valve, two-pin mounting plate for skid steers, swivel plate and pivoting backing plate.
Kubota adds new zero-turn mower
Kubota expands its ZD line with the ZD323, a 23-horsepower full-size zero-turn mower. The ZD323 is equipped with a 60-inch Pro-Commercial deck with a 61/2-inch-deep design. Its maximum operating speed is 9.3 mph. The mower features a high-back deluxe suspension seat, an adjustable front axle that can switch from rigid to oscillating, a hands-free parking brake and hydraulic deck lift.
Aichi expands crawler boom lift series
Aichi added two models to its SR-Series crawler boom lifts, the SR400C (40 foot) and SR460CJ (46 foot with jib). The two new models feature Yanmar diesel engines and allow a 13-inch ground clearance and 57.5-percent gradeability. They provide operators greater access to areas requiring a compact unit with low ground pressure. Boom lifts include a standard harsh environment package.
Dump trailer for pickups and tractors
The Contractors Series from Side Dump Industries offers landscapers a dump trailer with a 45-degree-plus dump angle with nylon pivot blocks for smooth pivoting while dumping. The trailers work well with pickup trucks or tractors. Operators can haul up to four cubic yards of stone, dirt, gravel, mulch, debris and a variety of other materials.
Ornamental grass offers vivid highlights to shaded areas
Hakonechloa macra ‘Aureola’ was selected as the 2009 Perennial Plant of the Year by the Perennial Plant Association. This ornamental grass grows 12 to 18 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide. Its common names are golden variegated hakone grass or golden variegated Japanese forest grass. Hardy in USDA Zones 5-9, ‘Aureola’ has an arching form that resembles a cascading miniature bamboo. It works well as ground cover, a border-front specimen, mass planting or in a patio container.

Deere introduces its smallest compact track loader
John Deere’s small frame CT315 compact track loader is the company’s first radial lift CTL as well as its smallest. The CT315 has a 12.6-inch-wide track and overall machine width of 60 inches. The unit features a 45-horsepower engine that meets interim Tier 4 emissions standards, and has a 1,500-pound rated operating capacity.
Trailers with added length
Bri-Mar’s EH824 series has two models with added length for hauling construction and landscaping equipment, attachments and other materials. Models feature a 24-foot bed length -20-foot flat deck plus 4-foot dovetail – and 101-inch deck width. The EH824-14 has a gross vehicle weight rating of 14,000 pounds, while the EH824-16 boasts 16,000 pounds. Equipment haulers are available in a variety of colors and with standard ramps or split landscape gates.
Aerate ponds whileproviding appealing display
