Bobcat’s 324 compact excavator is a conventional tail swing unit in the 1.5-ton operating class. According to the manufacturer, the new excavator can reach farther, dig deeper and dump higher. It offers three “best in class” features: a maximum dig depth of 8 feet 6 inches, reach at ground level of 14 feet, and a dump height clearance of 8 feet, 8 inches.
Bobcat’s 324 can retract to a width of just 38.6 inches and expand to 53.7 inches. Its overall height is 85.5 inches. Its boom cylinder is attached to the top of the boom instead of the bottom, which helps protect it while digging.
