The National Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization awarded five scholarships on behalf of Arysta LifeScience North America on April 28. Arysta LifeScience has supported FFA for nine years, and the scholarships were awarded as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.
The scholarships are part of 1,443 awarded through the National FFA Scholarship program this year. This is the 26th year scholarships have been made available through the National FFA Foundation by business and industry sponsors to reward and encourage excellence and enable students to pursue their educational goals. Currently, 132 corporate sponsors contribute over $1.9 million to support this program.
Students who received the scholarships included Kenneth Block of Atascadero, California, Benjamin Reinig of Portsmouth, Iowa, Claudia Castro of Safford, Arizona, Joshua Troester of Eldorado, Illinois, and Collin Gronseth of Mitchell, South Dakota.
The recipients were selected from 8,305 applicants from across the country. Selections were based on the applicant’s academic record, FFA and other school and community activities, supervised agricultural experience program in agricultural education and future goals.
