Heads Up Landscape Contractors is helping customers go green by starting with its headquarters first.

The company has recycled 7 million pounds of green waste and has captured 120,000 gallons of rainwater and snow each year to irrigate the landscape at its headquarters.

Heads Up has also gone a step further and replaced 20 of its trucks with fuel-efficient cars to help reduce greenhouse emissions.

Maintenance trucks now feature GPS units to help navigate more efficiently in the area to cut down idling in traffic.

The company has also acquired nine reduced-emissions propane turf mowers for its fleet.

Additionally, the company has changed out its light fixtures for energy-efficient CFLs and has encouraged its customers to use more xeriscaping in landscape designs to save water.
