One building in the heart of Hartford, Connecticut, will be getting some major renovations in hardscaping and landscaping soon.
After being under renovation since the summer of 2012, the building is entering its second phase of the project, which includes revamping its parking garage and corporate plaza, as well as adding 34,000 square feet of green roof plantings to its hardscaping.
The building has a connecting bridge to Hartford’s Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, the Connecticut Science Center, Constitution Plaza and the Travelers corporate complex.
The idea behind the greenery is to allow pedestrians to enjoy a green space in an urban setting.
The green roof will also lower energy costs, capture storm water and reduce Urban Heat Island Effect.
All Seasons Landscaping will be the construction contractors on the project and Tower Golde will be the landscape architect.
