Penn State is growing.
However, the university will not be seeing a new dorm, student center or even a parking lot. No, the university has seen the beginning developments of a children’s garden.
According to The Patriot-News, the children’s garden is the second completed phase of the new Arboretum at Penn State, and construction is projected to be finished in December.
By this time next year, the garden should have blooming plants and be available for visitors.
However, this is no ordinary children’s garden. The Children’s Garden at The Arboretum at Penn State will feature a water feature that includes a variety of rocks in Pennsylvania.
The garden will also feature native Pennsylvania trees, plants and fungi, as well as a climbing wall and caves.
The end goal is to have 370 acres of gardens, woods, meadows, tree collection and research displays at the university.
