Belknap Landscape Company will be helping in the 2013 Gilford Bicentennial Woodsman Competition in New Hampshire.

Lumberjacks, timber men, loggers, woodcutters and enthusiasts will all participate in the competition happening on Aug. 24.

The tree service division of Belknap Landscape Company has contributed its Altec 26-ton tree service crane to set and secure a large tree for the pole climb.

The company will also supply milled lumber and log chunks for splitting.

Belknap also reached out to the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) to help involve as many tree care professionals as possible across New England.

The contest will feature axe throwing, wood splitting, horizontal chop, chainsaw speed cut and a chainsaw disk stack, as well as a timed 40-foot pole climb and birling contest.

The registration fee is $5 per event with a $20 maximum.
