Man Travels East Coast On John Deere Tractor to Raise Awareness

Darren Hayes is a man on a mission with a tractor.

Hayes is traveling the East Coast in three weeks on none other than a 1952 John Deere 60 tractor all to raise awareness.

According to his site, Hayes is raising awareness and money for the Riley Children’s Foundation and Ronald McDonald House in honor of his friend named Matt.

Matt was recently diagnosed with two inoperable cancerous brain tumors – a similar battle Matt’s daughter lost a year ago.

To help support his friend, Hayes is traveling from Chiefland, Florida all the way to New Buffalo, Michigan on a John Deere tractor.

“Why a John Deere tractor you ask?” Hayes’ site says. “Because you don’t notice someone walking down the street or driving down the street in a normal car. However, you will surely notice a huge, bright green John Deere rolling down the street in front of you.”

Along with the traveling tractor, Hayes will be performing in parking lots along his route.

The tractor is towing a small stage, which Hayes will be using to perform.
