On Sept. 25, hundreds will gather in Washington, D.C. to participate in the World Energy Engineering Congress (WEEC).
EasyTurf will be one of the hundreds in attendance ready to debut a green-roof-surfacing system for architects and engineers.
According to the company, the green roof industry has been growing aggressively since 2009 and is up about 115 percent.
The government has taken interest in green roofs because of storm water, air quality, green space and city cooling benefits, according to Steven Peck, founder and president of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC).
WEEC is in its 36th year and is made up of seminars, lectures and presentations on new technologies, developments and industry trends when it comes to energy and an economic future.
Some cities who have shown green-roof initiatives include, Washington D.C., Chicago, New York and Toronto.
