Artificial turf is coming to Massachusetts.
In fact, the state will be getting the largest fully lighted artificial field this fall.
Set to open in early October, the multi-sport venue will feature multiple artificial fields and sport courts, as well as an outdoor surface unmatched in the rest of the state.
With four Olympic-sized soccer fields, the outdoor feature will encompass approximately 300,000 square feet of artificial turf.
The four fields will in turn each hold two 8 x 8 soccer fields, four 6 x 6 soccer fields, a full size field hockey pitch and a full size lacrosse field.
The artificial field will be AstroTurf’s GameDay Grass 3DXtreme synthetic turf.
The turf combines AstroTurf’s monofilament Horseshoe fiber with slit film. The horseshoe fiber has an Omega shape.
The 3D system feature RootZone technology, which is a thatched layer of textured nylon.
An indoor facility will feature 180,000 square feet of AstroTurf’s PureGrass system.
PureGrass is turf with high-fiber density that utilizes No Fill Required (NFR) technology.
