San Diego Chapter of CLCA Recognizes 17 Local Landscapers

031 A5694 Coronado Residence Mark Schroeder Co IncThe San Diego chapter of the California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA) recently recognized 17 local landscape contractors with the 2014 Beautification Awards.

The awards recognized excellence in landscape installation and maintenance, demonstrating the best quality, construction, originality and attention to detail on 2013 projects.  

Thirty-four awards were presented in 24 categories culled from 75 entries, which encompassed categories covering residential and commercial landscape construction, maintenance and renovation, along with water features, outdoor lighting and water-saving California-friendly landscaping.

The three top awards include: Sweepstakes Award for best design and build construction to Envision Landscape Studio of San Diego for the Modern urban farmstead in Encinitas; President’s Award for best landscape renovation to Mark Schroeder & Co. of San Diego for Coronado Residence in Coronado; and the Judges’ Award for residential maintenance to Columbine Landscape of Solana Beach for its work at the Padovani Residence in San Diego.

Multiple award winners included: Heaviland Enterprises of Vista, Falling Waters Landscapes of Encinitas, and Envision Landscape Studio of San Diego, with three awards;  Mark Schroeder & Co. Inc of San Diego, Enchanted Landscapes of Rancho Santa Fe, Nature Designs Landscaping of Vista, Torrey Pines Landscape Company, Inc. of San Diego, The Brickman Group of San Diego, Benchmark Landscape of San Diego, Tierra Verde Resources of Encinitas, Columbine Landscape of Solana Beach, New Way Landscape and Tree Services of San Diego, PCA Summit Services of Escondido, and Shasta Landscaping of San Marcos, each with two awards.

Other companies receiving a single award included:  Allen Landscape of Oceanside, Sowell Landscape of Encinitas, AAA Landscape Specialists of San Marcos. 

A first place “winner” and second place “achievement” award were presented, although not all categories warranted both types of awards.

  • Commercial Maintenance Medium:  The Brickman Group of San Diego for Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa in Rancho Santa Fe (winner); Benchmark Landscape of Poway for 5871 Oberlin Dr. in San Diego (achievement).
  • Commercial Maintenance Large: The Brickman Group of San Diego for T-C Forum at Carlsbad in Carlsbad (winner).
  • Multi unit Maintenance:  Tierra Verde Resources of Encinitas for La Colony HOA in San Diego (winner); Tierra Verde Resources of Encinitas for Viaggio HOA in Carlsbad (achievement).
  • Landscape Renovation Medium: Torrey Pines Landscape Company of San Diego for Hobbs Residence in La Jolla (winner); Columbine Landscape Inc. Solana Beach for Padovani Residence in San Diego (achievement).

  • Water Feature: PCA Summit Services of Escondido for Henson Residence in San Diego (winner).
  • Landscape Lighting: Envision Landscape Studio of San Diego for Farmhouse Contemporary in Encinitas (winner).
