Summer is always a busy time for everyone—with vacations, kids’ activities and a hectic schedule, it’s easy to look up and realize it’s September already.

So, here are some of the new products launched over the summer that may have escaped your attention.

Boost productivity on the jobsite with Cushman’s 1600XD4 utility vehicle, which seats up to four crewmembers comfortably. Standard with two rows of bench seating, the 1600XD4 has a 1,325-pound payload capacity and can tow up to 1,300 pounds from its rear receiver hitch. The 4-wheel-drive unit has a 22-horsepower 3-cylinder OHV diesel engine and an automatic, continuously variable transmission with low and high gear rations, a user-selectable locking rear differential which can be engaged in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel-drive operation, and four-wheel independent suspension. The 14.2-cubic-foot steel cargo bed can hold up to 660 pounds. MacPherson struts on the front wheels pair with a double A-arm wishbone suspension on the rear axle to provide both traction and a comfortable ride over rough terrain. Safety features include a tubular steel ROPS system and three-point seatbelts, as well as standard headlights with high-beam functionality, turn signals, brake lights, horn, emergency flashers and a reverse parking brake buzzer. Designed to fit Ford, Dodge and Chevy Trucks, Buyers Products’ die cast aluminum truck step serves as an alternative to running boards and nerf bars, and offers a 3-inch drop for easy cab access. The step measures 19 ¾ inches overall, and has a 14-inch-wide by 5-inch-deep usable step area. Reversible to fit both driver and passenger sides, the step has bolt on mounting hardware included. The step is available in die cast, black powder-coated aluminum to offer corrosion protection. Keep cargo and gear within easy reach with A.R.E. CargoGlide truck caps, which are now available in five models. The bed units are also updated with extensions that range from 70 to 100 percent, ensuring you can reach everything in the truck bed. The models available include the CG1000 with a 1,000-pound capacity and 70-percent extension up to the 2000XL, a commercial grade unit with a 2,000-pound capacity, 100-percent extension, 22 roller bearings, 8-inch side rails with tie-down T-slots, for tie-down attachments and a full-length deck with nylon laminated surface or optional aluminum deck. Simplify snow removal with Doosan’s bucket-mounted snow pusher attachments for its 13- to 20-metric-ton wheel loaders and tool carriers, which are an alternative to buckets and traditional windrow plowing when clearing parking lots, runways and roadways. Suitable for all Doosan general purpose and light-material buckets, the snow pushers are available in a 12-foot-wide model weighing 2,200 pounds, and a 14-foot-wide version weighing 2,400 pounds. They feature a 47-inch-high moldboard and 1.5-inch rubber cutting edge, as well as high-grade steel shoes and a 12-inch push beam. Three support tubes measure 3 inches long, 1 ½ inches wide and 3/16 inch thick for strength. Earth and Turf Products’ Ballast Box for compact tractors fits both quick-hitch and three-point systems. The 24-inch-wide, 20-inch-high, 16 ½-inch deep box weight 125 pounds and has a 4.75-cubic-foot capacity. Features include four pre-drilled holes for toolbox installation, tool-carrier loops to support shovels, rakes and other long-handled tools, a weld-on hitch for towing and lifting and drainage holes in the corners.
For applications where environmental compliance is a concern, Chevron has introduced the Clarity line of synthetic EA hydraulic and gear oils, which biodegrade by more than 60 percent within 28 days. Providing maximum protection in hydraulic equipment, the high performance line feature a high viscosity index for premium performance and long oil life over a wide temperature range. Prevent damage to hoses with Hannay Reels’ N500 Series, which features a declutching arbor that prevents damage when reverse winding. Featuring a compact, narrow frame, the N500 Series also has a non-sparking ratchet assembly. Suitable for grease, hydraulic, air or water applications, the hose reel is available in gear-driven crank or power rewind models. Achieve a better sight line when working in confined spaces with Knipex Tools’ series of angled pliers and cutters, which feature a 25-degree comfort angle. Included are 8-inch angled long nose pliers, which feature three different size pulling grooves; a 7-inch angled diagonal cutter, which has a high leverage design that allows for 30-percent more cutting power; 7 ½-inch angled combination pliers, which have serrated tips for a consistent grip; and an 8 ¾-inch cable cutter, which provides clean cutting without crushing or deformation and is equipped with a locking mechanism. Experience high capacity at a low hydraulic flow with VMAC’s Predatair HHP60 low flow hydraulic compressor, designed for 2011 and later models Ford 6.7 4x4 Super Duty, as well as other truck bodies. Featuring extreme weather controls such as soft-start, standby mode, over-temp shut-off and integrated hydraulic/compressor oil cooler, the Predatair protects the hydraulic system and the air compressor system while fitting in a compact lightweight package to free up hauling capacity and bed space. The Predatair HHP60 has a rated air capacity of 60 cfm at 150 psi and requires a hydraulic flow of 12 to 18 gpm at 40 to 60 cfm. The 172-pound unit measures 16 ½ inches wide by 24 inches long by 18 inches high.
