JCB is entering the UTV North American market with the introduction of the JCB Workmax 800D.
JCB is a relative newcomer to the North American ATV/UTV market, but has been manufacturing UTVs in the UK since 2005.
The company wanted to take advantage of the growing market segment of the side-by-side UTVs.
The North American Workmax team is located at JCB’s North American headquarters in Savannah, Georgia. Machines are distributed through a mix of established JCB construction and agricultural equipment dealers.
Featuring an 880-pound maximum bed capacity, the Workmax has a Tier-4 784cc Yanmar diesel engine, which is coupled with a two-speed variable transmission (CVT) with Kevlar belt.
In order to achieve a 50–50 weight distribution front to rear when fully loaded, both the engine and CVT are positioned further forward.
Additionally, the machine has an independent suspension with rate springs.
The side-by-side offers both electronically selectable 4×4 drive and diff lock, and the auto-style seating eliminates large levers between the operators and passenger.
Underneath the body of the machine, there’s a steel plate guard to protect major transmission components when engaged in off-road environments. In addition, the machine includes a ground clearance of 10.5 inches and a 8.5 gallon fuel tank.
The Workmax can be accessorized to fit owner needs offering a choice of front hood colors, including camouflage and yellow. The Workmax also offers a sealed cab with hard doors or a choice of half doors and soft doors with an unsealed cab. Other accessories are also available including: beacon kit, brush guard, heater, front tow hitch, interior mirror, road light kit and hydraulic lift.
