Landscapers needed to assist Project EverGreen’s military families

Project EverGreenproject evergreen greencare for troops logo with tree and badge hopes to partner with landscaping companies to make the lives of thousands of military families a little greener. The program, in its ninth year, expanded to wounded and disabled veterans.

National GreenCare for Troops Awareness Week is April 19 to April 25. The Green Care for Troops program is sponsored by Toro and provides free lawn care and landscape services for the families of deployed military personnel from generally nine months to one year. Now wounded and disabled veterans can benefit from the program. If additional services are needed, they can reapply for another year.

The program is volunteer based, and the landscaping company is matched with a family in their area in need of lawn care. More than 4,000 landscapers have helped more than 10,000 people since the program’s inception.
