The National Association of Landscape Professionals (formerly PLANET) announced this week that Scott Jamieson became president of the board of directors on May 1.

“I’m honored and excited to be president of NALP,” Jamieson said. “We have incredible momentum, having come through a tremendous rebranding effort that has positioned us to bring more value to our members and the landscape profession.”

Jamieson is vice president of Bartlett Tree Expertsin Grayslake, Illinois. He leads Bartlett’s national recruiting and corporate partnership efforts and also heads the company’s Inventory Solutions team. In addition to serving on NALP’s board, he is also active on the board of Openlands, former board chairman of the Tree Care Industry Association, as well as a former board member for the National Safety Council and the Alliance for Community Trees.

Jamieson holds a B.S. in urban forestry from Purdue University, where he has been honored as a distinguished alumni. He also received his master’s degree in urban forestry from Michigan State University and an MBA from DePaul University.

“We are the national association for all those companies that design, build and maintain the elements that come together to create landscapes where we all live, work and play,” says Jamieson. “Lawn care, landscape maintenance, tree care, irrigation, interior plantscape and the designing and building of landscapes all come together to create our association of landscape professionals.”
