Santa Rita Landscaping in Tucson, Arizona, is giving away a $15,000 landscaping makeover to a non-profit in the Southern Arizona community as part of its “Extreme Landscape: Santa Rita Edition” event.

The deadline to nominate a charity on the Santa Rita Landscape Facebook page is Sept. 30. Fans will vote for their favorite organizations throughout the month of October. A Santa Rita Landscaping selection committee will announce the winner Nov. 20 on the Facebook page.

In 2013, Santa Rita Landscaping had a $10,000 contest that the Humane Society of Southern Arizona won. The charity had a new 1,380-square-foot dog exercise yard installed by the company in January 2014.

At the project “reveal,” the Humane Society had a celebration for the volunteers who helped and offered free adoptions that day in response to Santa Rita Landscaping’s donation.

“The response to our contest was amazing,” said Garrett Ham, co-owner of Santa Rita Landscaping. “We received more than 30 nominations in support of deserving local charities via our Facebook page. Our selection committee then picked the winner based on the number of Facebook votes they received as well as their landscaping and outdoor space needs.”

Santa Rita Landscaping has been in business since 1985 and is owned by Ham, his brother Brian and Richard Spross. The company serves Tucson and the Southern Arizona area.
