Kubota announced the addition of seven new products at GIE+EXPO, including two new zero-turn mowers and a four-passenger UTV that can convert to two-passenger in a minute.
The zero-turn mowers are the newest addition to the ZD Series. Kubota offers the ZD1000 and ZD1200 in four deck widths: 48, 54, 60 and 70 inches. They are powered by Kubota diesel engines and have the new Aerodynamic Cutting System, which is designed to promote fuel efficiency and faster cutting.
The new mowers require 16 percent less horsepower down to the deck, which leads to a 27 percent increase in mowing performance, according to the manufacturer. New blade design enables the mowers to cut faster with less horsepower, Kubota says, and low-profile tires reduce resistance.
Other focuses of Kubota’s redesign of the zero-turn mower, aside from performance, are comfort and ease of use. Both the ZD1000 and ZD1200 have deluxe suspension seating and the ZD1200 includes a 3.5-inch LCD screen.
“We’ve greatly reduced the steering effort force on these machines,” said Tom Vachal, Kubota senior product manager for turf equipment. “You know in the old days, a lot of these machines everyone would always say ‘it’s like a rowing machine.’ Believe me they’re not like that any longer.”
The new ZD Series will go on sale beginning November 2015.
Another product landscapers can look forward to in November is an addition to Kubota’s RTV-X Series: the RTV-X1140.
This vehicle features Kubota’s K-Vertible cargo conversion system, which enables the user to transform the RTV-X1140 from two passengers and a large cargo bed to four passengers and a small cargo bed.
“With the RTV-X1140, Kubota offers industry-leading cargo capacity and comfortable seating for four adults in three simple steps – when you need to move your crew, swing in the cargo bed sides, fold the bed up, and flip down the rear seat – conversion is quickly and easily performed by just one person,” said Eric Goins, Kubota RTV product manager.
The cargo bed varies from 19.1 to 9.9 cubic feet, depending on the seating setup. The RTV-X1140 has front and rear independent suspension and designed to handle most off-road conditions.
