Design software company Vectorworks releases 2016 update

The company landscape designers may know as Nemetschek Vectorworks is rebranding itself as simply Vectorworks. The rebrand was announced at the same time the company released the English language version of the 2016 update of its design software.

Called Vectorworks 2016, the software release includes more than 100 updates and new features, according to a news release from the company. Vectorworks’ CAD and BIM design software includes Vectorworks Designer, Architect, Landmark, Spotlight, Fundamentals and Renderworks.

Improvements cited by the company include streamlined project sharing, graphical scripting and point cloud support, as well as subdivision modeling and a system that measures a design’s energy performance.

Vectorworks says more than 70 percent of the 2016 version’s updates and features resulted from customer feedback.

A number of hardscaping-related updates are among the new features landscapers will find in the 2016 software release, Vectorworks’ news release says.
