AmericanHort’s “NextLevel” conference for owners, CEOs and managers in the horticulture industry is set for Jan. 18-20 at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
In addition to ample networking opportunities, the conference features several educational sessions each day, most of which focus on business management rather than products and services. For example, sessions are scheduled on marketing (including social media), human resource management and succession planning for family-owned businesses.
Participants may also choose to focus on one of four “hubs” for both networking and educational activities. The hubs are as follows: Advance My Career, Balance Life and Business, Establish My Legacy, and Build My Bottom Line. AmericanHort says the creation of hubs will help attendees connect with others based on similar goals and common business challenges.
Here’s how AmericanHort outlines the four hubs:
- The Advance My Career hub is for the emerging leader who is trying to determine the next step in his career, whether it’s the strategies and skills needed to move up the management ladder or the resources to start his own business.
- The Balance Life and Business hub gives participants resources and ideas for managing both the demands of business and life successfully (and happily).
- The Establish My Legacy hub discusses the hoops and hurdles of succession planning or selling a business entirely.
- Finally, the Build My Bottom Line hub shares struggles and triumphs, as well as strategies that make for a great (and more profitable) business: more effective marketing, getting rid of unprofitable products, increasing margins and successfully developing staff.
