Stihl says its new MS 201 T C-M chainsaw was designed specifically for tree-service professionals. The company touts the integration of its “M-Tronic” engine management system into the new top-handle saw, claiming the system improves fuel efficiency while ensuring the machine automatically adjusts to conditions such as altitude and temperature.

“Whether at the top of a 60-foot oak tree or pruning the lower limbs of a pine, this saw will provide the same level of quality performance” due to the M-Tronic technology, said Kent Hall, Stihl’s senior product manager. For example, the system electronically adjusts the fuel/air mixture in the carburetor for all operating conditions: start, idle, partial and full load.

The MS 201 T C-M has a superior power-to-weight ratio, Stihl says, making it a good choice for professional arborists. The first part of that ratio is the 35.2 cc engine; as for the second, the saw weighs 8.16 pounds.

Stihl also boasts that the new chainsaw produces low vibration – a feature which, coupled with its comfortable gripping points, will enable tree professionals to work longer with less fatigue, according to the manufacturer.
