SolaRight Lighting has teamed up with Ahmed Hassanâs Sustainable Heroes to help contribute to the Aster Gardens charity project in Escondido, California.
The project provides transitional housing for 200 women, families, disabled adults and veterans who need a second chance. It includes 60 apartments, a playground, a communal area and a âfoodscapeâ garden.
SolaRight makes LED wireless lighted paver tiles and its lights generate 100 percent of their energy from the sun. They require no batteries or maintenance, the company says.
âWeâre so appreciative of SolaRightâs contribution to make the Aster Garden Project become a reality,â said Tylee Sewell of Sustainable Heroes. âYou never know how an act of kindness can affect a personâs life and their perception of the human experience.â
Sustainable Heroes is a non-profit group that selects various sustainable outdoor projects that will leave a positive impact. It is led by former DIY Network host Ahmed Hassan.
âHelping people help themselves is what we can do to give back,â Hassan said.
Hassan and his team are working with Interfaith Community Services, which is involved with various programs to provide food, shelter, social services and more. To date it has aided more than 19,000 Californians.
âWe are truly pleased to be able to help two incredible organizations in order to improve the lives of people who want to better themselves,â said Drew Dozier, SolaRight general manager. âWe look forward to providing more assistance in the future in order to give back.â
