Shindaiwa is launching a family of Lithium-Ion 56-volt cordless products that will be sold exclusively through Shindaiwa servicing dealers. The first three models, the Shindaiwa T3000 string trimmer, the EB6000 handheld blower and the DH2000 hedge trimmer, will begin shipping to dealers in time for the spring season, the company says.
Shindaiwa stresses that it doesn’t outsource any motors or other components of its Lithium-Ion products, all of which are designed and manufactured by Shindaiwa.
Like the company’s gasoline-powered products, the new cordless line carries five-year consumer and two-year commercial warranties. The battery carries a two-year warranty.
Shindaiwa says all three cordless tools feature brushless motors and use a shared 56-volt battery platform. The Lithium-Ion batteries come in two-amp-hour (2 Ah) and four-amp-hour (4 Ah) sizes. The tools may be purchased with or without batteries and chargers.
The T3000 trimmer uses a solid shaft for fast acceleration and a 1.4:1 gear ratio for increased cutting torque. Typical run time with the two-amp-hour battery is 29 minutes with a 12-inch cutting diameter and 22 minutes with a 14-inch cutting diameter. The four-amp-hour battery increases run times to 60 minutes (12-inch cutting diameter) and 45 minutes (14-inch cutting diameter).
The Speed-Feed 400 trimmer head comes standard with 0.080 diameter “SilenTwist” line.
The EB6000 handheld blower is lightweight and comfortable, Shindaiwa says, with blowing performance similar to gas-powered handheld blowers, although the EB6000 is quieter than gas blowers. Features include grouped controls with cruise control and a tool-less blower pipe with metal wear ring. The manufacturer says its “Posi-loc” pipe connection keeps tubes tight.
Shindaiwa’s DH2000 hedge trimmer features professional-grade, 24-inch double-sided, double-reciprocating blades with a tip guard to provide added protection when trimming near obstacles such as fences or walls. Typical run time is 65 minutes with the two-amp-hour battery and 120 minutes with the four-amp-hour battery.
The company says its two-amp-hour battery will fully charge in 72 minutes with the standard charger and 42 minutes using the rapid charger. The four-amp-hour battery will fully charge in 150 minutes with the standard charger and 88 minutes with the rapid charger.
