Having gotten out in front of most competitors with respect to robotic mower technology, Husqvarna is now offering an Apple Watch application enabling users to control, configure and monitor the Husqvarna Automower 320, 330X and 450X models from their wrists.

Called “Automower Connect,” the Apple Watch app works remotely, Husqvarna says, meaning you can control the robotic mower no matter where you are – including, the company says, “on the other side of the world.”

“Twenty-one years ago, Husqvarna set the first robotic mower on the market, and we have been pushing the technological frontier ever since,” says Olle Markusson, robotic category manager at Husqvarna. He said the company’s lead in the robotic mower market is expected to grow with the introduction of the new app.

Husqvarna says the app’s one-touch display includes functionality in the following areas:

  • Control – Monitor the current status of the robotic mower and send it “Start,” “Stop” and “Park” commands.
  • Configure – Read and modify the menu of robotic mower settings.
  • Security – Receive alarm notifications and track the position of the robotic mower in the event of theft.

The application is free to download and available in the utilities category of the App Store.
