Milwaukee Tool has expanded its layout and measurement product line with the introduction of 6- and 12-inch measuring wheels. The 12-inch wheel is product No. 48-22-5012 while the 6-inch version carries the product No. 48-22-5006.
The manufacturer says its new measuring wheels are the most durable and accurate of their kind, with reinforced aluminum frames and folding joints. Locking pivot points ensure the wheels can be folded quickly for transportation and storage.
Milwaukee Tool says the new 12-inch measuring wheel is equipped with a flap that clears away debris while rolling and also includes a reinforced kick stand.
Both of the new products feature ergonomic pistol grip handles, the company says, designed to provide similar ergonomics to those of a power tool handle.
The wheels’ handles also have a top brake function that can be used to “lock” the wheel and the reading. The 12-inch wheel also is designed with a top handle clearing function, enabling the user to reset for each measurement without bending over.
OX Tools introduces Bamboo Masons Level
Observing that accuracy and durability are the most important hallmarks of a mason level, OX Tools says it has addressed both criteria with the introduction of its new Bamboo Masons Level.
Bamboo has a tensile strength comparable to steel, the company says, and when combined with lamination, the level provides exceptional durability and makes cleanup easier. Extruded aluminum bindings were added for protection and strength.
Ox Tools says bamboo is not affected by heat or cold like aluminum or plastic levels, which tend to expand or contract with temperature changes.
“Solid block acrylic vials are close to unbreakable – it is literally a block of acrylic with the vial tube machined or cast into the block,” says John Diplock, managing director for OX Tools. “The blocks are permanently calibrated and set in the factory, eliminating the need for future calibration.”
The new Bamboo Masons Level includes shock-absorbing rubber end caps that can be easily replaced, the company says.
