Greenworks Commercial has expanded upon its lithium-ion powered equipment with its first ever line of UTVs.
The Greenworks Commercial Stealth and Stealth Crew UTVs are built to handle rough terrain while carrying all the tools and materials needed on a jobsite.
The UTVs have a 500-pound carrying capacity and a 1,500-pound towing capacity. Both machines have a top speed of 25 mph. They can travel up to 45 miles on a single charge and are powered by a 13.8kWh 80V lithium-ion battery. The vehicles have a ground clearance of 10 inches.
According to Greenworks, the vehicles can be charged overnight for 10 to 12 hours. The UTVs will be offered with a number of accessories and options including a 3,500-pound winch and full windscreens.
The manufacturer is also expanding its offering of lithium-powered mowers after initially introducing a battery-powered 60-inch zero-turn mower and a 48-inch stand-on mower this summer.
A 52” 52R zero-turn mower and 52” 52S stand-on mower will be available in 2019. The 52R will offer 4.5 hours of run time while the 52S will run for six hours. These mowers are powered by an 82-volt 13.8kW lithium-ion battery that has been UL-certified.
“We were absolutely blown away by the industries reception for our first Lithium Zs earlier this summer,” says Tony Marchese, director of independent retail for Greenworks. “As impressive as those machines are, we realize that we were really just scratching the surface in terms of the versatility that lithium-ion vehicles can bring to the OPE industry. We will now offer the broadest and safest line in the industry…With vehicles for mowing, towing and hauling we will have an option that can help everyone.”
Both the UTVs and the new mower sizes are expected to arrive in 2019 through Carswell, Carswell OEI, Conniff, Edney, PACE and Steven Willand independent dealer networks.
Another product to round out Greenworks’ offerings is its first professional grade snow thrower. The SN-220 is a 22-inch snow thrower that is powered by the 82-volt battery system.
Unlike other snow throwers, Greenworks says that landscapers don’t have to worry about the gas freezing. All they have to do is warm the battery up with the charger and then they are good to go.
The snow thrower features a duel battery port with automatic switchover for an extended run-time. It has a 12.5” clearing depth and 180-degree directional chute that can be adjusted on the go.
Operators can maneuver the snow thrower with ease thanks to 8” rear wheels and the machine can discharge snow up to 25 feet. Rubber and steel augers work to slice through hard-packed snow and ice and dual LED lights allow for early morning and late evening clearing as well.
It features a folding handle for space saving and easy transport.
“Our new 22” snow thrower offers incredible, true gas equivalent performance, with all the convenience and cost savings of lithium-ion power,” Marchese says. “Recent industry studies have found that nearly 60 percent of all professional snow removal work is being done by companies whose primary business focus is in another area, such as professional landscaping. We know many of these businesses already have our batteries for their warmer weather gear, so now they can use those same batteries to power their snow removal equipment, increasing their profitability considerably through a reduction in their fossil fuel costs during winter.”
The snow throwers will begin shipping to Greenworks’ independent dealer network Nov. 1st.
