FLOE International Inc. wants landscapers and nursery operators to check out its Cargo Max XRT line of lightweight trailers. The smallest, the XRT 8-57, has a load capacity of 1,800 pounds “if loaded properly,” while the three larger models are rated for loads up to 2,200 pounds, the company says.

All models can be towed by most any utility vehicle or small car, and even moved by hand, according to FLOE, which is based in McGregor, Minnesota.

The 8-57’s inside bed size is 57 inches wide – 54 inches at the wheel wells – and 97 inches long. The overall length is 150 inches and overall width is 68 inches. The trailer weighs about 290 pounds.

FLOE says the aluminum frame is combined with an “Ultra Body” made of a highly impact-resistant polymer that is “virtually indestructible” – even when struck by a sledge hammer at minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit – while the floor trussing system is strong, drains efficiently and is easy to clean.

The extruded aluminum frame will never rust or need paint, the manufacturer says, and heavy-duty axles and wheels are rust resistant.

FLOE says the Cargo Max XRT’s independent rubber torsion suspension can handle rough roads as well as weight. Hubs can be greased without disassembly.

The trailer is equipped with commercial-grade LED lighting, with each light independently grounded to the tow vehicle. The molded wiring harness runs through the aluminum frame to protect the electrical system.
