Money might not grow on trees — but it can be found in piles of leaves, as one New York landscaper found out.

Marvin Rosales-Martinez was clearing storm debris from Superstorm Sandy last year with a leaf blower when he a scratch-off lottery ticket, reports CNN. The damp “Win $1,000 a Week for Life” ticket turned out to be a life-changing find.

Rosales-Martinez won $1 million from the ticket, opting to receive the prize as a one-time lump sum payment. He received the payment last week — $515,612 after tax. Not too shabby for one day’s work.

I bet you and your crew will be a little more observant of what is blowing around in the leaf piles from now on.

Have you ever found anything interesting when clearing debris?
